Attractions

Podlasie itself is a magical land, but it is the Białowieża Forest and the attractions it offers that make it one of the most popular tourist destinations. The Białowieża Forest itself is the most valuable forest area in Europe in terms of nature. There are almost three thousand giant trees here, reaching the size of natural monuments. There are huge spruces over 50 metres tall, oaks, ash trees and lime trees over 40 metres tall. The oldest of them sprouted during the reign of King Władysław Jagiełło. It is home to around 12,000 species of animals (deer, roe deer, wild boar, wolves, Eurasian lynx) and around 1,100 species of plants. No wonder that the Białowieża Forest and the attractions it offers attract thousands of people from all over the world. Its absolutely unique feature is that it is a global refuge for the European bison, the largest animal in Europe, which would not have survived to this day if it were not for the forest. The Białowieża area was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979.

Bliżej Natury is located in the very centre of the Białowieża Forest and the town of Białowieża. Despite its central location, it is characterised by tranquillity and surrounding nature.
